Meet Landrie,

The Moxy Mentor!

Hi! I’m Landrie, a group practice owner turned career coach to new counseling grads.

I was once a new therapy grad stuck in a mental health job that was quickly burning me out. I was told I needed to “work in the trenches” to gain experience. I wasn’t sure I had the ability to do anything other than what I saw my peers doing: burning themselves out in agency and community mental health jobs they didn’t really want to be in.

Thankfully, a friend had moxy enough for the both of us and told me I was capable. I used her moxy till I had enough of my own and dared to dream bigger. I started my practice with 0 clients and 0 knowledge! But with a a whole lot of moxy, I kept taking baby steps, until I found myself doing the very thing I wasn’t sure I could ever do: running a successful practice with more clients than I knew what to do with.

My passion is empowering new therapists to start their dream careers NOW and to build businesses that lead to fulfilment rather than burnout.

What We Do At The Moxy Mentor

Week-by-Week

Pre-Work: Get Ready

You’ll do some pre-work to help you make the most of your time and make this process as stress free as possible! I’ll help you identify areas of self doubt, external negative messaging, as well as your personal goals for the program.

Module One: Understanding License Requirements

You will gain clarity on the requirements of your specific state early on, so you know exactly what to do to get your license as quickly as possible. I will also give you my fool-proof organization strategy!

Module Two: Create Your Plan

You will gain clarity on what kind of private practice you want, define your “theory of counseling,” and find your “right fit” supervisor that fits your budget, clinical goals, and personality. You will also create a plan based on your state’s unique requirements and unique financial needs (this will not look the same for everyone!)

Module Three: Define Your Expertise

I will help you narrow down you “niche,” meaning your ideal clients that “fill you up” (vs drain you!). You will learn how to communicate your expertise to other professionals and to clients.

Module Four: Business License & Name

You will name your business(!!) get your business license(!!), buy your domain, and create your “elevator speech.”

Module Five: Finances and Bookkeeping

Learn the EASY way to do your bookkeeping and track your finances for your business. I will help you get those tax breaks you will need to run a sustainable business.

Module Six: Tech Week

You will set up your email, business phone number, website domain, and EHR (electronic health record) software. For those who are overwhelmed by tech, this will be the SIMPLE step-by-step process you want!

Module Seven: Branding

Create your logo, choose your branding colors, and take professional photos for your website and other advertising needs.

Module Eight: Building Your Website

Learn time-saving steps to create your website without spending hundreds of $$, but have something just as good!

Module Nine: Client Paperwork & Scripts

Prepare ethical and legal paperwork your clients will fill out when they become your client. Get the Moxy Mentor’s phone scripts and email templates.

Module Ten: Advertising

Create your advertising plan, perfect for both introverts and extroverts! Learn to advertise in your sleep (and for free). Learn creative ideas to establish yourself as an expert (but only if that sounds fun!).

Module Eleven: Launching!

Make your dream a reality by launching your very own private practice! Wrap up the odds and ends, know your next steps, and proudly know you are now a business owner!

This IS for you if:

  • You are full of self doubt or feel stuck or overwhelmed (this program is designed for you!)

  • You know you want to work for yourself and have a private practice (you just don’t know how)

  • You want to start making money seeing 1:1 clients now

  • You want a fast track to the career you’ve already worked so hard to attain

  • You think you are capable of more, you just don’t know how to get there

  • You live in the state in which you plan to be licensed

  • You are ready to be licensed as an LPCA, LAC, LMFTA, PLPC, or similar license

This is NOT for you if:

  • You already have a private practice or already have a clear idea of how to start one

  • You are looking for a self-paced program. This program requires your participation to get the most out of it.

  • You want to support someone else’s business, vs thrive in your own

  • You are looking for clinical supervision (I do not offer clinical advice)

  • You don’t care about doing things ethically and legally

  • You want to work with high acuity patients

  • You want to put off the career you’ve already worked so hard for

  • You already have business coach or mentor support

  • Bi-weekly group virtual calls beginning the week of Aug 18th.

  • 1 personal video call may be scheduled with no extra cost

What Happens After You Join the Waitlist?

  • Once applications open, you’ll receive a short application form to make sure you’re the right fit for the course

  • Once you’ve been accepted, you’ll receive an e-mail confirming your place in the course

  • You’ll get access to The Moxy Pre-Work Module

  • The course will run for 11 weeks, with the Welcome Session beginning the week of Aug 18th, 2025

  • All calls will be an hour long via Zoom, bi-weekly (every other week) on Wednesday afternoons at 2pm EST
